How to find a PC's Computer Name and IP Address
If your web server is running on a PC that has a Computer Name or IP Address, then other people in your company can use them in a URL to visit your site.

1 Click the Start button on your Windows Start Bar. Then click Settings and then Control Panel. This pops up the Control Panel window.

2 Double-click the Network icon. This pops up the Network applet.

3 COMPUTER NAME
To find the PC's Computer Name, click the Identification tab in the Network applet.

4 IP ADDRESS
95 - To find the PC's IP Address in Windows 95, click the Configuration tab in the Network applet.
NT - To find the PC's IP Address in Windows NT 4.0, click the Protocols tab in the Network applet.

Double-click TCP/IP in the list box. This pops up the TCP/IP Properties dialog box.

5 In the TCP/IP Properties dialog box, click the IP Address tab. If the Specify An IP Address option button is selected, then the entry next to IP Address is correct.
