 9/30/2001 Here you see commuters returning to their homes in Uskudar. You can see buses and taksis picking them up. Way in the background, you can see the typical poured cement and terracotta block homes on the hill. The mosque you see behind the trees is Mihrimah Mosque. In front of it is a very nice water fountain. I believe it's called Ahmet III. I had heard that Istanbul had lots of fountains so I expected to see water spurting up all over. They're not that kind of fountain. They are for passers by that need water.
