12/28/2003 The architecture is wonderful, but I don't like the decorations...too much, the seem like fake, I would say.
Webmaster says ...2/5/2004 OK, well, it’s interesting you chose this shot for that opinion. Many agree with you. But not me. I took this shot specifically to demonstrate an esthetic I really appreciate about these tile-lined mosques. No matter how close or how far you are from these walls, you can always make out some beautiful form. And there is art at every level in between. Do you see what I mean?

2/28/2004 Yes, I understood that these tiles can be seen like a form of art, but I think that there is no art in the repetition of the same forms, the same signals, this is an industrial work, not artistic one; I prefer much more the turkish architecture, that's really amazing.
Webmaster says ...3/3/2004 I might agree except for the fact that these tiles are all hand made. And they have to be. Each tile design can only be used in a few places. These aren't bathroom tiles.

Repetition is an important part of Islamic art. Some people see art in repetition.

5/18/2004 I love this Cami and aso the architecture. If you are a Muslim and have been to a Mosque before the "decorations" won't bother you, you grow to like them and understand them. At the end of the day it doesnt matter how good it looks aslong as we have somewhere to prey.
All Allah's homes(Mosques) are beautiful no matter how big or small or whatever!

1/28/2005 I think its a very inteesting picture, and there is nothing wrong with repetition in mosque archutecture. The decorations are not cheap. The person who said that was just not used to them.
