9/16/2004 Im looking to find the location of Instanbul does anyone know where to find a map?
10/18/2004 go on google, type "Istanbul", and then "Images". From there you shouldn't have any problems finding Istanbul, Turkey. Beautiful city by the way...
11/19/2004 This map is 5 miles or 8 KM wide.
11/23/2004 If you draw a line from Azapkapi and Mihrimah, The Selim Mosque is almost exactly at the half point. at the north of the small green area.
12/13/2004 hi. my name is BB. im palnning to visit Turkey early2005, can i have a clearer picture of Taksim Square?
12/25/2004 How far is the international airport to the city... I have a six hour lay-over and I'd like to take in some sights.
1/14/2005 airport to city nearly 20 minutes . You can visit selim mosque ,etiler, ulus, halic, taksim square , bebek, ortakoy... also in summer time you can visit Bodrum, Antalya these cities very famous on south side of turkey every year almost 20 million people go there . very nice beach and perfect sand and very cheap
1/30/2005 La pagina está muy completa, pero se deberian implementar todas las fotos de las demás mezquitas que no aparecen. Tambien deberia haber un estudio mas detallado de cada una. Un mapa completo de toda Türkiye no estaría mal.
3/18/2005 I was on a CruiseShip a few weeks ago and met a man on the crew who is from Turkey.....if Istanbul is anything like him, I can gaurantee it to be a beautiful place. He was so beautiful, like nothing I've ever seen. I hope we meet up in the future as I have already started corrispondance with Ferhart. I miss him.
4/16/2005 I want a detailed street map of Istanbul located on it the sites of the hotels

3/1/2006 MASHA ALLAH
MOSQUES in ISTANBUL are ALL OVERWHELMING and BREATHTAKING
this is URSULA of General Santos City, PHILIPPINES
i am a TURKIYE FANATIC
3/7/2006 I have visited Istanbul many times and have a few ideas for visitors.
Get out in the local neighborhoods and see some more beauty. Take a bus out through Ortakoy and up to Bebek. Stop at the market in Ortakoy and see how inexpensive you can find some truly beautiful souvenirs. See Bebek and stop off at the Bebek Cafe for chai (tea) and talk to some of the locals out there for an afternoon, or evening, of quiet conversation. Visit Ortakoy in the evenings, particularly in the summer months, and check out all the nightclubs. Try to get out to the barge and see a nightclub with it's own swimming pool about a hundred yards off the shore.
Go to Taksim in the city and have a meal in Cacik Pasaji. Go into the little alley alongside the restaurant and stop at the first seafood seller on the left and have some deep fried oysters, with real yogurt, on a roll. Delicious.
The people are friendly, and you can get around using only English, and even better if you carry around a small book of pharses.
4/10/2006 3/7/2006 sorry one word in your paragraph made me laugh a lot. Excuse me but it is not Cacik Pasaji but Cicek pasaji. Cacik is a word for liquid yogurt with cucumber inside but Cicek means flower. I really can not take myself of laughing. Please not get offended because cacik word can be used when insulting someone also. Although Thank you for these beautiful advices for the tourists.
Bahadir in Milano
4/10/2006 I should have known better and checked my writing before I sent it. I also enjoy cacik, expecially the kind with garlic. It is so good with ekmek. Here in Washington DC there are some wonderful Turkish restaurants, but I miss the alleys and all the surprises around every corner in Istanbul.
Tesekkurler. I would hate to send someone in search of cacik pasaji. It would be most embarassing.
Bob in DC
4/13/2006 Hi Bob and Bahadir; this is the first time I've witnessed a back and forth conversation on my site. I love it! It's visitors like you that keep me enjoying my own site. Bob, you must visit regularly. And I love your suggestions. Even though I was with a tour group, I went off by myself by bus and ferry a few times. Locals talked over each other to help me and try out their English. And Bahadir, thank you for your comments. You have knowledge and perspective.
4/25/2006 As far as a know Cezeri kasım pasa mosque is not a sinan mosque. It was dated 1515.
4/25/2006 I think you're right. I'll take it off my list.
7/6/2006 i have been doing research on noahs ark and the garden of eden can you give me hints on turkey

10/1/2006 I spent 2 weeks in Istanbul and 2 weeks in Bodrum with a Turkish family. IT was the most amazing trip of my life! I recommend that anyone who visits Topkapi palace to spend the extra 15 dollars on the Harem, it was an amazing site. The night clubs on the Bosporous auch as Sortie or Istanbul are 2 of the nicest/beautiful clubs I have ever encountered. I love Turkey and all the history and culture it has to offer and I can't wait to traverse that country again. Borek, Doner durum, Turkish pop, the overwhelmingly nice people, the mosques, amongst a million other things are amazing. The only thing I am apphensive about is the Iskembe. :)
11/9/2006 I have been living in istanbul for 21 years. Now I am in a shitty place called binghamton in New york state. And I can tell you, because this experience of being away from my city has broadened my senses, İstanbul is the only city that I can somehow find or feel melancholy (hüzün). İstanbul is not bout great mosques and food, (I think) it is about the solid melancholy that you can see in every little detail.
If you are planning to come to İstanbul, I would highly recommend you to read the book "Black Book" by Orhan Pamuk.
Take care of my city :)
